Interested in becoming Catholic?

You can begin a process called “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” (RCIA), a journey of prayer, reflection and learning that helps participants understand the Roman Catholic faith and get all their questions answered.

The process begins with the “Inquiry” phase where any and all initial questions are welcomed and answered.  An atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual respect is encouraged as participants grow in their understanding of Catholic beliefs and practices.
Inquirers who are ready and willing may move on to the next phase of further instruction in all the Teachings of the Catholic Faith (the “Catechumenate”).  Team members and sponsors will assist you in discovering God's will for your life through prayer, answering questions and talking with you.

At the end of this second phase, there is a transition (for those who are ready and willing) to the phase of immediate preparation for reception of the Sacraments of the Church and becoming fully Catholic (Catechumens & Candidates are now called “The Elect”).  At least twice a year at the Newman Center we celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation to welcome new members to the family of God, the Church.

If you are someone who is exploring different faith traditions, has never been baptized, been baptized in another faith tradition, or been baptized Catholic but have never received your First Communion or Confirmation and would like to find out more about the Catholic Church then this is the process for you! At All Saints Catholic Newman Center, we primarily serve ASU students, and we welcome students and recent graduates into this process whenever you are ready to begin. If you are not a student or recent graduate, we would be happy to refer you to another nearby parish that will be able to better serve you and help you in your faith journey.

Sessions are on Sundays before the evening Masses.

Practicing Catholics who only need Confirmation are invited to participate in a 7 week Adult Confirmation Preparation.  Sessions are offered twice a year on Tuesday nights from 7-9pm.

Please contact Sr. Mary Eileen Jewell, PVMI at the Newman Center 480-967-7823 or srjewell@asucatholic.org for more information.
