I am a Parent
Daily Mass
Every day during the school year, the Newman Center offers Mass at 6:30 PM in the Old Church. Daily Mass is a wonderful way to step briefly out of your anxiety and into the solace of peaceful prayer.
Table on the Mall
We can be found on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on campus. We’re here simply to talk with you and spend time with anyone who’d like, so stop by and say hello.
Intramural Sports
Students can register to play intramural sports on a team with the Newman Center. We’ll even pay the registration fee. Intramurals are a great way to meet new people, get some exercise, and have fun.
Quo Vadis & Kickback
Every Wednesday after the 6:30 PM Mass the Newman Center holds a holy hour of adoration called Quo Vadis (Latin for “Where are you going?”) at 7:00 PM. With a short teaching by one of our priests and reconciliation offered throughout, this is an extraordinary weekly opportunity to deepen your prayer life.
After Quo Vadis, Campus Ministry hosts the Student Kickback at 8:00 PM in the basement of the Old Church. Join us for a fun filled evening with friends.
The Newman Center’s “Old St. Mary’s” Church has served the Catholic population of Tempe Arizona for more than 100 years, and has served Arizona State University since 1932. It is the oldest religious club on campus and remains one of the largest, most active and vital campus ministries in the country. Our mission is to complement the secular education provided at ASU and provide a home for students to develop their gifts and grow in their faith.
We realize the importance of helping students grow in their faith as soon as they arrive on campus and provide numerous programs and activities to not only help them make new friends, but to grow in their relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
