ASU Catholic Newman Center Parents

Parents!

Welcome to ASU Catholic Newman Center that serves the Arizona State University community!

ASU is one of the largest universities in the country with an enrollment of around 65,000 here at the Main Campus in Tempe. Spread out over 4 campuses, total enrollment is around 100,000. That can be overwhelming for someone leaving home for the first time. ASU Catholic Newman Center serves as a “home away from home” for a LOT of ASU students … it’s a community where they can connect with others on the same journey! Priests, a couple of nuns, a tremendous and devoted staff… we’re here for our students first!

There’s of course the whole sacramental life of the Church – Mass, confessions, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – in abundance. But students also can participate in retreats throughout the academic terms, take an active role in service projects we carry out at the Mexican border each semester – missions of mercy to the poorest right in our own backyard. Newman small group Bible studies meet each week, College Nights every Tuesday explore timely topics and culminate in a variety of fun endeavors, periodic parties and events take place throughout the academic year. There’s no shortage of ways to stay connected to Christ!

There’s more! Part of my life as a priest is to pray the “official prayer” of the Church throughout each day – which I offer specifically for our students and their families… send me the name of your students (find a link from Chris T) and intentions and I’ll get right on it!

We’d sure love to have YOU as part of the extended family here! Connect with us on the Parents Facebook page… give me a heads-up when you’re visiting – we’ll make you feel right at home… you can also support our mission – here on our website (online giving) or sign up for direct giving… your support makes a great deal possible for many!

Look forward to seeing you!

Director/Pastor

Prayer Requests

College life will have a few ups and downs for most students. Struggles are inevitable. And in those times, prayers always help. If your student, or anyone in your family is need of prayers, please let us know. We would be happy to include your student or family members’ names to our priests’ prayer list. Just email Fr. Rob at frclements@asucatholic.org and he’ll include them.
